History Of Massage

Did you know that massage oil has been used for thousands of years? There is evidence of its use dating back to ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Greece, and India. In ancient times, good massage oil was often used for medicinal purposes and was considered an important part of healthcare. In Egypt, the benefits of massage and the right oils were said to treat injuries, relieve pain, aid blood circulation, and promote relaxation. Egyptians used sought-after exotic oils made from various herbs and plants, including lavender, frankincense, and myrrh.

In Greece, massage was also used for therapeutic purposes, with physicians such as Hippocrates recommending the use of olive oil as a massage oil. In India, Ayurvedic medicine has used massage therapy as a part of its healing practices for over 5,000 years. Ayurvedic massage oils are made from a variety of herbs and plants, and are used to balance the body and promote overall health and well-being.
